Set within a 350-year-old house in 26 acres of former sugar plantation, the hotel boasts a collection of plantation house suites and garden cottage suites set within a plot of palms and mahogany trees. The best part? All meals and activities are included in the price of your stay, such as local hikes to explore the area as well as scheduled fitness classes throughout the week, from yoga and Pilates to soca aerobics and boxercise overlooking the ocean.

Room Types

Plantation House - The Royal Suite
The Royal Suite perfectly combines history and elegance, the perfect escape for couples. This room is situated in the historic house, letting you step back in time. With large fitted wardrobes and many original antique furnishings The Royal Suite encapsulates all that is quantity – including a large ceiling chandelier. A queen-size mahogany four-poster bed stands centre stage in the room, wrapped in a princess mosquito net.
Plantation House - The French Suite
The enchanting French Suite, decked out in regal red holds a double wrought-iron French four-poster bed, dating back to 1800s, and fitted wardrobes. It is completed with an 1800s writing desk and antique bookcase brimming with ancient works. The en-suite bathroom includes an original bath and walk-in shower. The French Suite is situated in the historic house, letting you step back in time. The red walls and curtains glow in the morning light, let in through the French windows. This suite has a balcony overlooking the Chinese Garden.
Plantation Suite - The Pineapple Suite
The charming Pineapple Suite comprises two single four-poster beds. The room features large mahogany as well as direct access into the Chinese Garden. The private bathroom (not en-suite) has slated windows overlooking the Chinese garden. Fitted with air conditioning unit, though the trade winds through the Pineapple Suite combined with the Cotswold stone of the house means the room keeps cool throughout the night.
Garden Cottage Suite
Nestled within the tropical gardens, the two traditional island cottages are semi-detached in design to provide four Garden Suites with vibrant Caribbean hues, traditional Antigua pyramid roofs with vaulted ceilings, crisp linens, granite and porcelain accents. En-suite bathrooms feature double rainfall showers. The stunning and spacious cottages come with private verandas and hammocks. Designed with guest privacy and comfort in mind, they provide guests with the views of Mercers Creek.
The Dukes Suite (Honeymoon Suite)
The largest suite at The Great House, with a King-size mahogany four-poster bed, The Dukes Suite is fitted with original furnishings, including antique books. The suite contains chairs for guests to unwind after a long day exploring the island. The en-suite bathroom includes a walk-in shower.


The Great House Restaurant
Open Sundays from 12:00 to 17:00 The Great House Restaurant offers a three course Sunday lunch amidst the beauty, serenity, and exclusivity of The Great House Antigua. Based in the main courtyard, surrounded by the historic Buff House and tropical gardens, with soft sea breezes and bird song filling the air. The finest cuisine enjoyed in the most spectacular setting.
